Benefits of Blinds

Window blinds are a classic style option for covering the windows of Northeastern Ohio homes.

  • Affordable window coverings
  • Outside views and natural light with slat adjustment
  • Block light when closed
  • Complete privacy
  • Child-safe with cordless blind innovations

Many homeowners love the affordability of custom blinds. They coordinate beautifully with the interior of your home, in a variety of finishes, so you can design a stunning look while accessing light control and privacy. With adjustable slats, it’s not just block the light or let it flood in. You can adjust the slats to meet your family’s needs over the course of the day. Today’s blinds are safe for children and pets with cordless lift and motorized adjustments available.

Common Questions about Custom Blinds

If you’ve been looking into purchasing window blinds for your home, you probably have questions, and we have answers! We’ve been in the window treatment industry for years, and one thing we always like to remind our customers of? Do your homework when it comes to brands, products, features, operating systems and warranties. You’ll be glad you did.

What’s the difference between custom blinds and in-stock blinds?

This is a great question. In-stock blinds are made to fit most windows, but the sizes aren’t always the right fit, depending on your windows sizing. Because the fit isn’t designed for your home’s window measurements, they sometimes end up looking somewhat awkward. Custom blinds should be professionally measured for and designed to fit those measurements. When it comes to the function of your blinds, you may need door handle or window crank cut-outs to ensure that you can operate your blinds properly. In-stock blinds that you order online can fail to meet high quality standards in finishes, materials and operating systems, so those purchases can result in frustrating experiences.

How do you measure for blinds?

Because we offer custom blinds, we come right to you for free, professional measurements. Not only do we take exact measurements, we are the quality control of the experience. We will advise you on the best mounting options, based on the depth of your windows, and which systems will provide the best function. Custom blinds can be used when you have specialty shaped windows, door handles and window cranks that can get in the way or layout challenges that can keep you from making proper adjustments.

What size windows can Hunter Douglas blinds fit?

We cover a variety of shaped and sized windows, but the specific sizes can vary, based on the collection:

Parkland Wood Blinds: Coverage up to 96 inches wide and 120 inches high

Everwood Faux Wood Blinds: Coverage up to 96 inches wide and 96 inches high

Modern Precious Metals Aluminum Blinds: Coverage up to 144 inches wide and 126 inches high

Do you offer motorized blinds?

Yes, we offer Hunter Douglas PowerView automated blinds, which work with remote control, app control, or even integrated with smart home systems. Our three hard treatment blinds, including wood blinds, metal blinds and faux wood blinds are considered motorized tilt only. Our fabric blinds can be motorized lift and tilt control, due to the lightweight fabric.

Where can Hunter Douglas blinds be seen locally?

We have three local window treatment showrooms in Northeastern Ohio, where you can see window blinds up-close, operate them and decide which design elements you’re interested in. Visit us at our Chagrin Falls location, the Cleveland Design Center, or our Rocky River showroom.
