How do I change the batteries in my shade or remote?

- Shades:
- Battery Wand: Slide the wand out (usually behind the headrail), remove the endcap, and replace with 12 AA alkaline batteries.
- Rechargeable Battery Pack: Detach the magnetic charger, and plug it into a USB port using the Hunter Douglas cable. Charge ~6 hours
- Remote (Pebble or Scene Controller):
- Open the back using a coin or screwdriver. Replace with a CR2032 battery (positive side up).
- Tip: If the remote doesn’t respond, it may need to be replaced and programmed.
- Shades:
How do I re-sync my shades to the remote after a battery change?
Shades will stay programmed after a battery change.
How do I add shades to the PowerView® app?
- Go to hdpvapp.com on your phone or tablet, and install the PowerView® app.
- Open the app, and login, or create an account if you don’t have one. This is required to detect your shades.
- Ensure shades are installed and powered on.
- Tap Get Started (New Home) or + (Existing Home)
- Name your home.
- Select the main power type: Battery, rechargeable, or wired.
- Create a room and name it.
- Identify each shade and name them. Use jog feature to confirm.
- Repeat for all rooms and shades.
How do I set up Remotes?
- When asked, add shades to a remote or tap ‘No Remotes.’
- Ensure your PowerView Hub is online and nearby.
My shades stopped working after getting a new router – what now?
- Gen 2 Hub (Ethernet): Plug it into the new router. Open the app and the Hub will auto-connect.
- Gen 3 Hub (Wi-Fi): Use Add Hub in the app to reconnect to Wi-Fi. If the LED stays red/orange, reset the Hub and app.
Service & Repairs
Do you clean blinds or drapery?
No. We no longer offer cleaning services.
Do you accept customer fabric (COM)?
No. This is only offered to our Timan & Co. Designer Trade Program members.
Where can I drop off a shade for repair?
Repairs are accepted only at our Cleveland office at 4533 Willow Parkway, Cleveland, OH 44125.
How do I take my shade down for service?
- Duette®, Silhouette® and Vignette®: Press the release tab or tilt the headrail forward, and lift it out.
- Luminette® and Verticals: Open the vanes, remove valence, tilt headrail forward, and lift out.
- Always use two hands, and call us first if unsure.
How long do repairs take?
- In-house repairs typically take 7–10 business days.
- Repairs sent to Hunter Douglas typically take 3–4 weeks.
Do you repair other brands?
No. We service only Hunter Douglas products.
Can I order parts and fix it myself?
Yes. We can order parts for you. Pricing varies.
Will Hunter Douglas parts fit other brands?
No. They are not compatible.

Where is the manual program button?
Battery-powered shades: On the bottom of the headrail, on the right hand side.
Rechargeable models: Behind the cassette, near the charging port.
Can you retrofit exterior motorized screens to my pergola?
Yes. Our systems can be added to existing structures.
Do you repair screens or awnings?
Screens will be case by case, depending on the frame and condition of the project.
Fabric awnings–only if purchased through Timan & Co.
Do you sell fabric awnings?
Yes. We offer Sunpro Awnings.
Can I fix blinds between glass panes?
No. Contact a window or glass specialist.
Can I replace panels on vertical blinds?
Yes, if they are Hunter Douglas products.
