Blinds

Slats tilt almost parallel with the window to close–introducing privacy and light control at the window. Tilting open, you can experience directional light control or even view-through. Blinds are usually made of wood, aluminum, composite or vinyl materials.

Plantation Shutters

Commonly crafted of wood, composite or vinyl, interior shutters are known as a timeless, sophisticated and durable choice. Louvers adjust on a range, tilting for directional light control, view-through or fully closed privacy.

Draperies

Designed to both frame the window, or cover it fully, draperies are made of fabric to control the light, as well as add privacy and energy efficiency. The fabrics used heavily influence the list of benefits. With today’s design, stationery panels are also an option, just placed at the sides of the window for style.

Roller Shades

One of the most popular types of window treatments, roller shades offer a single layer of fabric that covers the window, or just roll up out of the way. They are revered for their light control, privacy and simplicity.

Roman Shades

The history of the roman shade actually has it dating back to Ancient Rome! These shades have come a long way–often a staple in design. Traditionally, fabric gathers in stacks as the shades rise, lowering back down when closed. The finished look can either be overlapping fabrics that cascade down the window, or folds that lie flat against it. The folds of fabric bring elegance and dimension to the room, while providing light control, privacy and energy efficiency. Because there are so many versions of romans, you can discover your favorite and create the perfect look.

Honeycomb Shades

Often called Cellular Shades, the interior of the shades feature open pockets, designed to create a barrier of air that insulates at the window–preventing air flow that can cause temps to change. This revolutionary design transformed the world of window coverings. One of the top products on the market, not only can they make your home more efficient, but they are also capable of providing excellent light control and privacy.

Woven Shades

Well-loved for the organic vibe they present, woven shades are crafted using natural materials. The combinations of grasses, reeds, woods and bamboo create varying looks from one collection to the next, all part of the Provenance Woven Woods collection.

Sheer Shades

Sheer fabrics offer view-through to the landscape, while also softening incoming light. With today’s sheer shades, fabric vanes float, revealing the view, and bringing in filtered light. To close up the vanes, you’ll reduce the light and view. Depending on the fabric vanes, you can still enjoy some filtered light–or, relish in blissful darkness. Within this category, there are also many types of window treatments, for a truly custom experience.

Vertical Window Coverings

For many types of window coverings, there are vertical options that pair with the horizontals. But, we are separating them out so you can identify the look that suits your home. Commonly used to cover sliding doors and extra large windows, they come in both shade and blind versions.

Vertical blinds are created with slats that hang from the top track, in materials such as fabric, vinyl or wood, meant to control light and add privacy. They slide sideways for ease of use.

Vertical shades are offered in a wide range of materials, similar to their fellow horizontal options, from collections such as woven or cellular, and even patterned materials. With these verticals, you can generally choose additional solutions, like room darkening, energy efficiency and motorized shades.
